FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Huntington Beach, California - January 4, 2002 - ProVUE
Development will be demonstrating its new Panorama iPod
Organizer at MacWorld Expo next week in San Francisco
(Booth 3426). The Apple iPod(tm) is designed to store and
play music, but with the Panorama iPod Organizer users can
make all of their important information available at their
fingertips on their iPod. The iPod's jog wheel makes it
easy to quickly locate any of the data stored on the
device.
With the Panorama iPod Organizer users can store and access
phone numbers, email addresses, flight numbers, appointment
times and more on their iPods. Data can be entered and
edited in the Panorama iPod Organizer itself or can be
imported from other database or contact manager software.
Information can be organized on the iPod into custom
categories (Home, Work, Travel, etc.).
The Panorama iPod Organizer requires no special software on
the iPod. To transfer data to the iPod the package exports
the data as tiny MP3 files compatible with iTunes. (The MP3
files are silent.) When the iPod is synced with the
Macintosh all of the contact information is automatically
transferred to the iPod. The organizer information is
extremely compact -- in fact, 1,000 contacts will use less
than 0.1% of the space on the iPod's 5 gigabyte hard drive.
Once the organizer information has been transferred to the
iPod the user can navigate the data just like ordinary
music files. All of the categories the user has created
appear in the Artists menu on the iPod. For example,
suppose the Panorama iPod Organizer has been used to store
the phone number for American Airlines in the Travel
category on the iPod. To find this phone number on the iPod
the user would first select Artists, then scroll down to
the Travel entry. Once the user selects the Travel option
they can then locate American Airlines and find the phone
number and any other information associated with that
entry.
The Panorama iPod Organizer can be used by anyone with an
iPod. Users of ProVUE's Panorama database software get an
extra bonus, however. With the Panorama iPod Organizer
installed any Panorama database can be easily converted
into a source for iPod data. Any data that can fit on the
iPod screen can be downloaded to the iPod: parts catalogs,
check lists, schedules, the possibilities are endless.
The Panorama iPod Organizer will be available in late
January 2002 for an introductory price of $19.95. For more
