Before you can process credit card transactions, your company must obtain an Authorize.Net Payment Gateway account and a merchant account (a type of account that allows you to collect proceeds from online transactions). To obtain these services, you can choose one of many Authorize.Net resellers. If you don’t already have an Authorize.Net account, we’ve made arrangements with MerchanTech, Inc for a special deal on new accounts for Panorama users. Contact ProVUE Development for more information.

When your account is approved, Authorize.Net will send you a link to get started. The first step will be to activate your new account. The account activation process should be completed by the person who will have primary responsibility for the payment gateway account. During activation, this person will be established as an Account Owner. See the PDF file below for detailed account activation instructions.

To set up the Panorama interface to Authorize.Net, you’ll need the API Login ID and Transaction Key (see The Authorize.Net Wizard). To get these values, follow the steps described on the API Login ID / Trans Key page.

After you have activated your payment gateway account, the final step before you begin processing live transactions is to go to the Authorize.Net web site and configure your account’s access and security settings. In addition, it is important that you submit test transactions to verify that your account is properly connected to the payment gateway. To help you avoid submitting live transactions before you are ready to do so, your account is initially placed in Test Mode, allowing you to submit test transactions without actually charging live accounts.

General Settings

These basic settings can be used to customize your payment gateway account to your business:

AuthorizeNetSettings

Time Zone – Confirm that your account is set to the correct time zone. Refer to the Time Zone help file for more information.

Transaction Cut-Off Time – Authorize.Net will automatically batch all transactions that are marked for settlement (transactions that have a status of "Captured, Pending Settlement") once a day, based on the batch cut-off time configured for the merchant’s account. To view or change the batch cut-off time configured for your merchant account, log into the Merchant Interface, click Settings in the main menu, and click Transaction Cut-Off Time in the General section.

User Administration/Profile

The User Administration and User Profile sections of the Authorize.Net web site allow you to create, edit, and manage users accessing your payment gateway account.

For the most part, these sections of the web site are self explanatory, but if you have questions you can contact Authorize.Net Customer Support at any time by clicking Contact Us or Live Help in the top right corner of the Merchant Interface.
