Finding server

I'm still unable to share Panorama files over the internet, even with
a direct hookup to a static ip. I can get server status for web
sharing with any number of configurations, but I can't share files.
Nor can I mount shared volumes over the internet, which makes me
wonder if *anyone* here is sharing files successfully (Panorama or
whatever) over the internet, using Leopard (OS X 10.5.5 (9F33)). If
so, I'd sure like to know how! I've tried 2 different computers, with
and without Enterprise. I can share across networks fine, but not
across the internet. I'd appreciate any insight (or wild—a$$ guess)
that anyone might have as to the problem. Thx.
