The Preferences dialog (in the Track menu) allows you to set up various global settings.
General Preferences
Automatically Open Track Magic when Panorama Launches?
If this option is checked the Track Magic wizard will open automatically when you double click on the Panorama application.
Automatically Scan for Rails apps on launch?
If this option is checked Track Magic will scan your system to find Rails applications each time you open Track Magic. Enabling this option will cause a slight extra delay each time you open Track Magic. Once Track Magic is set up you’ll probably want to leave this option disabled and only scan for new Rails applications manually when necessary (using the Scan for Rails Applications command in the Tracks menu).
Note: Track Magic uses Apple’s Spotlight tool to search for Rails applications. If a Rails application is in a folder that is not searched by Spotlight then Track Magic will not see the application. You can use the Spotlight panel in System Preferences to specify what folders are searched.
When creating a new table, auto create a synchronized Panorama database?
If this option is checked, Track Magic will automatically create a synchronized Panorama database when you create a new Rails table. See Creating a Synched DB for more information.
Host for New Rails Applications
Track Magic usually creates new Rails applications using SQLite, the default host for Rails. You can, however, use this section of the Preferences dialog to make another host the default for new applications. Only hosts that have been added to your list of favorites (see Managing Hosts) can be used as a default host (click the Favorite Hosts button to access the list of favorites). To change the default host simply choose the host you want to use from the pop-up list.
From this point on all new Rails applications created by Track Magic will be created using the specified host. See Creating a New App for more information.
Command Key Equivalents (Menu Shortcuts)
The bottom portion of the Preferences dialog allows you to set up custom keyboard shortcuts for many of the commands in the Rails menu and its submenus. To assign a shortcut to a command simply type in the letter, number or symbol. The next time you open a Panorama database linked to Rails, the keyboard shortcuts will appear in the Rails menu and its submenus.
