The newdatabasewithfields statement creates a new database with one or more fields.


Parameters

This statement has one parameter:

fieldproperties – dictionary containing properties of database field (repeat for each field you want to create).


Description

This statement creates a new database with one or more fields. You can fully specify the parameters of each field, see the setfieldproperties statement for details.

Here is an example that creates a simple mailing list database:

newdatabasewithfields
    initializedictionary(
        "NAME","Name",
        "CAPITALIZATION","Word"
    ),
    initializedictionary(
        "NAME","Address",
        "CAPITALIZATION","Word"
    ),
    initializedictionary(
        "NAME","City",
        "CAPITALIZATION","Word"
    ),
    initializedictionary(
        "NAME","State",
        "CAPITALIZATION","All",
        "RANGE","AZ"
    ),
    initializedictionary(
        "NAME","Zip",
        "RANGE","09-—"
    )
